Has anyone had success on backing up the movie "Hostile"? I ran it through with just "Dvd Shrink" and when I watched the movies - it only had the beginning, the reat of the movie was missing??
Has anyone downloaded the latest "Dvdfab" software? Is it a "freeware". I just got a popup stating that a newer version was available? Thanks Ronnies
DVD Shrink seems to be falling behind in the copy protection battle. Could I suggest that you try Clone DVD with Slysoft Any DVD running. This should sort your problem out. If not try DVD FAB Platinum its not a free program but you can get it without any problems.
DVD Shrink lacks the ability decrypt by itself, as updates for it's ripper stopped 2 years ago. you have to use something to assist it, such as AnyDVD, or rip it with something else (DVDFab Decrypter, etc) and then run the ripped files through DS.
Thanks for your kind replies. "AnyDvd" has a conflict with my computer. I use "DvdFab" and "Dvd Decrypter" and then "Dvd Shrink". This usually works fairy well but not on the newer movies. I have tried to use "Voblanker" etc. but was not easy for me to use.
Thanks for your suggestions. ronnies
Try using ripit4me, it uses shrink, DVD Decrypter and FixVTS as part of a one click process to backup your movie. You can get it here along with a guide on how to use it.
The most common reason any dvd has a conflict with PC's is that you may have a region free program running in the background, for example DVD43. If you disable it any dvd should work fine. Happy burning.
Yes, it's true that having more than one decrypting app runnng can cause problems, but there's no mention of any other apps running in the backround to aid in the decryption process. As far as DVD43, when installing AnyDVD the presence of DVD43 would of been detected and ronnies would of been prompted to uninstall it.
AS stated in version 5.5.4.1 of anydvd:
- New: As DVD43 could cause system instability if installed together
with AnyDVD, it can now be automatically uninstalled, as soon as
AnyDVD is started.
@ronnies
There is a new version of DVDFab decrypter, and yes it's free. You now have an option to rip just the main movie, which is what I suggest you do if you try using it instead of ripit4me.
Hey guys - thanks tons for all of valued information. Your response and particpation has been very much appreciated. I just downloaded the latest DvdFab - thanks again. Ronnies
