I've tried to put data on a dvd but have been unsuccessful. Apparently I need some different software to do this. Could someone give me a heads up on what I need to buy. Thanks

PS I searched the forum but didn't see anything. Maybe I asked the wrong question.

when you say data, what do you mean? just a data dvd, not video or anything, right? any decent disc writing program can do this, as long as you have good blanks and a functional dvd burner on your pc. Nero, RecordNow, there's even a native writing fuction in windows XP.

I've tried RiDATA 8X and Taiyo Yuden. I have a Plextor PX 716A burner and the operating system is windows xp. I have the basic Roxio 7 software. Thanks for the help.

you didn't clarify, though. is data all you're trying to put on? not video, right? what method are you using? while Roxio is generally a software frowned upon here, it should at least allow you to burn off some discs.

Sorry about that. I've only tried burning data that failed. I would also like to put jpegs on. I can burn video dvds just fine with DVD Shrink after Decrypting. Thanks again.

try uninstalling/reinstalling Roxio. if i were you, though, i'd just ditch Roxio altogether and get Nero or another such program.
