no, you dont!

I already have the game, and I didn't have to rebuild it to play with swap magic! Make sure that you are using good media (I usually use Sony DVD+R) and burning it at a low speed (no more than 4x)...

Don't worry, the game works perfectly without rebuilding it!!

hi all. ive been doing games for a while but have come accross a problem with tis one. got a mate to rip me a version off his original and posted it to me. he did it on a DVD+RW and i copied it to a DVD-R. well it boots but then sticks on a black screen and does nothing. i assume its a bad copy cause other games play but is there anyway to sort this black screen? im using SM3.6 if it matters. sorry to be such a damn noob!

I did normal burn without any special patching, or anything to the iso. but iam getting an "Invalid PS2 Disc" message.
my media is not the problem because iam using RiDATA burning at 2x, and all my other working games are with the same media and burning speed.

anyone got any comment?

Me and a few other people at a Torrent site have been having the game freeze for a few seconds during racing as the background is drawn in. Do you think the game is to blame here or is everyone's PS2 laser dying?

I know I've been having problems every since I played Bully for a couple days and it gave my laser a nasty workout.

i think its the lasers lol as i ran out of ideas on the bad copy and couldnt be bothered to wait for a download so i went out and bought it. when u exit the pause menu it takes 2 or 3 secs for the map etc to load back up but the scenery and the car are there straight away. i guess its just the laser on my PS2. it is about 7 years old after all lol

mine works perfectly.

all you others prolly dl'd it and it's not working. why? cuz you dl'd. backup real copies not ones online. you deserve that.

all those who did copy and original disc your problems are either pos media and/or pos burners

actually when i said mine doesnt load the map straight away it doesnt but its a genuine version (collectors edition) i went to a shop and bought. so i guess its either a game fault or my laser is fooked!

Well I've tried burning it at several speeds with good media and I still have no luck with this game. Most probably it is my PS2 laser because even Need For Speed Most Wanted didn't work for me, it froze in the middle of the race - the same thing that happens to me on Carbon.

Anybody got any ideas?

PS2 - Swap Magic 2.0 DVD - Swap Magic 3.0 CD - Memory Card Exploit - Swap Magic 3.6 ELF - Swap Magic 3.8 ELF

I haven't replied in a couple days because now I'm having trouble with the new Tony Hawk but anyways I managed to play till 100% but I could only play in 1 hour chunks. Like clockwork after about an hour the races would start to do that freeze then load for 5 seconds, mostly when I was going really fast and about to hit corner. But for the whole hour I had no problems.

I don't know why were all having problems on all these new games but for the heck of it I put in NBA 2k7 which I burned 1-2 months ago and it worked fine. So I still don't believe my laser is the problem.

with my nfs carbon, it runs perfectly on my softmodded box, but when i put it into my xecuter 2.6 box, it freezes at the loading screen, tried different burns, four to be exact, on all different media, all works fine on the softmodd so its not a bad burn! was wondering if it could have something to do with the chip? all other games play perfectly! any insight on this anyone?
