This has happened to me now on a few dvd's and i dont get why there are 2 of the exact same audio tracks... which one do i need to pick? Or do i not even need to pick the 2 channel audio and just go with the 5.1 all the time? Depending on were i watch the movies, i dont always have a surround sound system. Will the 5.1 work good on just a tv without surround sound, or should i always pick a 2 channel and 5.1? thanks
U dont need ANY of the 2ch audio, JUST the 5.1ch audio, it will work with a tv without surround sound too, becuz it will downmix to whatever or how many audio chanels u have.
I don't know about that because I once backed up a movie and took out the 2 ch audio and just left the 5.1 and I didn't get any sound from my 60" Sony.
I agree and watch those subtititles. I once backed up Godfather 2 stripping out all subtitles and not being Italian, I didn't have a clue what they were talking about.
Had to do the complete movie again.
It usually tells you what the audio channels are,
Dolby 5.1 for home cinema
2ch for normal
2ch for directors commentary
I always select the first 2 becuause if you only select 5.1 and then play back on a 2 channel DVD player, You will get an unbalanced sound.
not at all, the 5.1 does 'downmix' so it'll work fine on non-5.1 equipment..
plus i only ever choose the 5.1 audio track and (touch wood) have never had anything missing yet
