i am not new to this psp thing but with all these iso, cso, and dax files which loaders can load dax files? i know dehook 46 can do iso n cso, but wat bout DAX? n does cso files run not as smooth as iso? cuz i jus compressed vice city n it seems to me that vice city cso is way choppier with lagging rather then the iso any ideas?

well anyone eles got sum ideas cuz i jus try n compressed vice city from ico to dax n is even smaller then cso o.O

to compress to dax you will get the file much smaller. some games you will notice that they don't run smoothly as the files are compressed past the compression rate i,e VCS. you ocan make games smaller, however, via a ripkit. i belive VCS can be made around 700mb while still an iso. and dax can be loaded byr daxloader (i think) also i think i read that 2.71 SE-B3 can load .DAX (again i think).

For devhook you can get a dax pluging prx for it. I use it and gtavc loads fine with minimal lag. It also can compress better than cso. Look on psphacks for the prx mod.

I gave this a shot today and the GTA:VCS dax works great. I'm converting every to dax now to save space.

There is some lag compared to the uncompressed ISO. It's a lot better than the CISO and not that noticable when at 333mhz. I like having all the radio stations and there's not way I can do that an get it to fit on a 1GB stick without compressing.

The original ISO is about 1.6GB. With the update and dummy files removed it's about 990MB. That's still to big to fit on a 1GB stick, because you have less than 1GB of space on a formatted MS.

the original is 1.56gb. i used a ripkit and now its around 700mb. the Devhook dax plugin...were do u put it? in the DH fodler? if so were abouts in thre?

The Dax pluggin goes in the :root/dh/kd folder.
