i am going to get swap magic for the ps2. Do all games work when you back them up?

Yes, most games work with SM when backed up.
However, backing up games is reliable on using good media and burning at the right speeds.
I reccomend you use Verbatim or Sony and burn at 4-8x speed.
Then you should be good to go :)
