I can't seem to play my ps2 game backup Black using swap magic 3.6,
the game just locks up at the select language screen
I've burned the game twice at 4x and 2x but it still locks up in the same place so i'm kinda stuck

This game will work fine if the game is burnt on GOOD MEDIA. The game dose not have to be rebuilt. I have backed up the game several times and they all work with no problems, and i'm using Swap Magic 3.6. I think your problem is the media you burnt the game on.

Yeah, probably media.
My friend he got his copy, burnt onto a bad media worked on his modded PS2. I got a bit cheap so I took his copy and copied that copy onto a higher class media (basically 1st class), used swap magic 3.6 and it worked.
I got hooked on this game. I'm generally CRAP at fps but I manage to finish it under BLACK-OPS difficulty. How rare of me...

This is a really good fps, it has very good sound on it. I like turning the sound all the way up and set back and play this game. Very easy to get hooked on this game. Voowoo if you have any more problems post them and I will try to help you get this game working.

Heard the PAL version of this game has NTSC/PAL selection and therefore, you could play the PAL version on a NTSC TV and PS2.
Is that true?

@kunit1
That's correct. I have the PAL version on my PAL TV and PS2. Despite the fact I can play in PAL, I like this game in 60Hz instead.
So, in other words, BLACK has a NTSC/PAL selector.

Because some games need constant reading from the ps2 and since cheap media can't be read easily therefore, the ps2 cannot keep up with requsts coming from the processor.

Black media is the worst kind of media to use for anything you do.
