We are using the tdk DVD-R for our ps2 backup. We bought a new ps2. They sell them in a grey color now. We put in our backup game, the first time it played. we took the game out and put it back in and it would not play. So we put the same game in the regular old ps2, it started right up and ps2. We are guessing that they are making the laser weaker in the newer ones so they wont read the backup games. Has anyone had this problem?

the first models were made in japan and the newer ps2's were made in china.hope that solves your problem.
