Not sure if anyone can help. I think I've broke my neighbours PS2 *looks rather concerned*. The powerlight is on red as normal when turned off. When trying to turn it on again, it flashes green briefly (about half a second) then switches off again.
Any suggestions? I really don't want to have to shell out loads for a new PS2 or anything lol
Check the Fuses It might be a burnt out fuse on the Motherboard or the Power Supply Might be screwed up
The last time it was running did it smell like plastic burning if yes its the Power supply.
Is it a slim Ps2? It might just be a screwed external AC pack if its a slim ps2 dont worry about the Power supply a slims Power supply is the balck box.
Remember to check teh fuses.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try giving that a go later on tonight. I thought I could possibly smell a faint electrical burning smell when I took the lid off but, couldn't seem to locate the source.
Would a blown fuse / AC pack still allow the power LED to illuminate though?
I'm really really hoping it's something as simple as a fuse because I can probably sort that out for pennies (cheapskate that I am LOL).
Lucky it was the neighbours PS2, although I don't think he sees it the same way ROFLMAO :P
It's a slim PS2. Trying to work out the version of it so that I can get the fuse locations to test them.
The giveaway of a v12 unit is that the warranty label is at the back of the unit, as opposed to covering one of the screwholes underneath. However, it also has no modem socket, instead just the network connector, which is a typical trait of a V13.
Just my luck lol. Not as though I'm easily enough confused as it is :-(
