Best backup speed?

What is the best speed to backup up a 360 game? I have heard all over the net to use 2.4 but I have also seen it even in here saying it is good at 4x or even 8x.

Thing is I burned Gears of War at 2.4x with Verbatim discs using the Gears_Of_War_READNFO_MULTi2_NTSC_XBOX360-SuperX360 file.

It worked fine at first and I even played well into the game. Then I kept getting the awful unrecognised disc error. Now I can't even get my game to load. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i have been hearing that too, but then again, everyone says burn at 4x and try it, i think alot of the issues are with hitachi drives because i have a sammy and i have no had one problem yet, i even burn at 2.4x and use memorex.

I burn at x2.4 and that works Most of the time for me and I use Datawrite disks.I have had one game fail to load but all i dont was burn it at x1 (took ages!!) and then that worked with out a problem.
i too have a sammy drive in my 360

I am assuming these are illegal downloads, not straight rips, correct? It could very well be the download. If you use Newsgroups, they can have problems like that if you don't know how to properly repair and doctor up the files.

Nearly all my games are straight rips, i only have 1/2 meg broadband so dont wanna spend 5 days downloading a game :-(
