How Do I Get My Xbox360 Live 30 Day Trial? Please help

i just bought a premium pack xbox360, 2 wireless controllers,
& 4 games (pro evolution 6, project gotham racing 3,
just cause & nba 2k6)..
i'm supposed to get xbox live gold for 30 days free trial, but when i connect the xbox360 to my internet connection & click xbox live,
& then it says that an xbox live gamertag already exists on the console & that i can recover it..
but ive never had an xbox live account before, or an xbox.
i was in the middle of creating a new gamer profile, when i got to the bit where you have the option of selecting xbox live silver,
xbox live gold/month, xbox live/year etc, but there is no option of the free trial i'm supposed to get...
i would really appreciate some help here as i want to experience some of these games online, but until i buy the subscription for xbox live gold for a year, i want to use the trial..
i tried to recover the one it said already existed, but it asks for the last 4 digits of my credit card, full name, postcode etc,
& when i fill these in it says something was filled in wrong
& it cant do it.
please help if you can, its very much appreciated, THANKS
P.S i have a 48 hour trial with pro evo 6 but its not the point :-(

i think for that you need to select the option that is something like "redeem prepaid card. or redeem code." something along those lines i believe. hope that helps

hmmm, it does have that option, but wont i need a code?
there was a little card that came with the console & it says:-
Xbox Live Free For 1 Month, No Catch. All Action....
1. Connect your xbox360 to your broadband internet connection using the ethernet cable provided (or an xbox360 wireless networking adaptor, sold seperately)
2. When you create a gamer profile during setup, choose i want to join xbox live to create a new xbox live account..
any ideas?

there isnt a code on the back of the lil card, or a spot to scratch off the covering, like a lottery ticket would have that would hold the code underneath of it?

no but there is on the pro evo 6 card, but thats the 48 hour trial.
is there anything else i can do?
like complain to microsoft etc?

i think i got it..
i did a search on google & it said i have to sign up to xbox live silver & ill get a free 30 day trial of gold at the same time..
one last question.
can i connect the xbox360 & my pc upto the same modem?
i have 2 slots on the back pf my modem, 1 for usb,
& the other for the ethernet cable.
i was thinking maybe i could attach the ethernet to the 360 & the usb to the pc.

Neither did I. I made a new account on Xbox Live and automatically get a free month of gold. You can do this up to 6 times just make a new profile and sign up for xbox live.

yes, ps2menace was right..
i created a new profile & account for xbox live & when i signed up for the silver & got a free month of silver.
just a couple of questions:
1) how do you get microsoft points & is it worth it?
2) on some games it sats downloadable content, but i looked everywhere on xbox live marketplace & couldnt find anything
for nba 2k6 or project gotham racing 3..
even though it says downloadable content.
how do you get this "content"?
3) can you get things like new levels/characters/cars etc on marketplace, not just themes/pictures?
4) does anyone know if its possible to connect an external hard drive or internal pc hard drive to the xbox console?
its just that they could have done better than 20gb.
for the money it costs to get all of this: console/games/headset/camera/hard drive/subscription to xbox live/wireless controllers/new new HD-DVD drive/charger for controller/steering wheel & pedals/faceplates/media remote/wireless adaptor/docking station & even lcd monitors youd think they would give you more stuff for free & a bigger hard drive..
100gb perhaps!!
what next, the inevitable keyboard/mouse?

big boo to FIFA/EA SPORTS for not allowing pro evolution soccer to include updates to strips/teams/emblems etc =B-)
