New hitachi drive nearly flashable?

Hi i killed my 360 with samsung drive got the ER 66 and despite people saying "trust me they're all fixable" this one is not it is dead. So now im waiting on getting a new one from the guy who i bought my first one off. He is keeping my dead one in the hope he can have it up and running at some point and is giving me a new one for £50. Thing is he can only get hold of the new hitachi drives which aren't flashable at the moment. Has anyone heard of any progress being made on the new drive being flashed with xtreme?

Have you tried to put the old drive key back on ? No FW ... I hav'nt heard of a Sammy drive that can't be reflashed after the Error 66

its an ms28 drive. The guy i have given it to says he has managed to re-do almost all of them but mine and a couple of others he cant sort out. People keep saying that all er66 are fixable but this guy knows his stuff and just cant do it.
