TS-h943 - ms28 Flashing Problems

Hi, i recently bought a xbox 360, which has a TS-H943, Ms28 drive, manufactured in july 2006. After reading alot of tutorials i decided to have a go at flashing it my self, i got the latest xtreme firmware, made a boot disk, with bootmaker. And this is what i got;

A:\>mtkflash r orig.bin
mtkflash by joseph lin, mtk 1991 ver 1.83c
Please wait...
Port: ec 00, master/slave: a0

And that it's. My motherboard is a "MSI Kt6v", with a "via kt600 chip based", with onbaord SATA.

After more reading i tried another attempt, i got this

A:\>samread ....... .....
Directory already exists
mtkflash by joseph lin, mtk 1991 ver 1.83c
Please wait...
Port: ec 00, master/slave: a0
Status = 51 should be 70

Now if i press esc, i get
"ERR:User break
A large X360Sam
Then "Originial firmware from backups.../...../..
Hack firmware from ../..xtreme...
New Hacked Frimware from backups/..../..../
Backup/.../.../orig.bin not found - aborting!

Does anyone have any idea on what i can do ?!?!

sounds like your chipset might not be compatible. I spent several days trying to flash a m28 unsuccesfully and finally gave up and bought a via 6421 sata pci card for like 15 shipped and had it flashed within about 10 minutes of installing the card.

Are you using the 10 second trick to turn the xbox on and off. If not get textbooks tutorial and read the section on ms28 drives and use the bad flash recovery method to get it to flash...might work if you haven't tried it. This is what you have to use w/ the 6421 pci sata card if you get one.

Hi let me know how you get on with this. I also have a ms28 drive which I need to flash. If anyone can provide a link to a tutorial for this (MS28) please do so I have searched as much as I can lol

Hi,
Thanks for the tutorial its very good, i have got a bit further now, i can now choose which drive, but then i am still getting the port: ec00... i've tried everything,. I had a look in the tutorial, and it said my via chip was compatible, and i downloaded both of the hex-edited mtkflash files, and they havnt worked. I might have to try the VCC method, has any one tried this and got it work after?
