So I'm trying to back up my copy of Star Ocean til the End of time.
I have a slimline PS2 and an Action Replay Max Evo Edition with a USB thumbdrive with cdloader.elf I've been using 1:1 copy of Nero dvd copy and DVD Decrypter. I've gotten my back ups of other games to work fine, i'm using memorex blank dvd-rs. But for some reason it won't load SOTTEOT. I've used various other games as trigger discs, Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 seems to have a matching TOC as Star Ocean.

Does anyone have any wisdom to pass along?

Thanks.

Just try some different media. I use Maxell DVD-R. I have had no problems with them, although other people have. I have had tons of problems out of Memorex and know others who have had tons of problems out of them. I would have to say it's your media. Check out the good media forum

50 successful first-time back-ups on memorex says you're wrong.

Its all down to the burner/disc combination.

no offense but just because you have done successful back ups on Memorex doesn't mean that they are quality media.
I knew people who had Imation work great for them and they are just crappy.
Memorex is medium class media at best on most DVD media guides.

They dye will wear out quicker and cause more stress on your laser than quality media will.
and all burners handle media a little differently as far as how well they burn them.

Best suggestions i can offer:
1. Get some better quality media (8X DVD-R)
2. Try updating your burners firmware to help with quality and media compatibility.

I'll try better media. Thanks. In the event it doesn't work, with the TOC content for the Star Occean disc, should I try using God of War? It's like.... bigger....

If TOC was a problem then rebuilding Star Ocean could help shrink it to a better size.
I would try updating your burners firmware as the first option so you do not waste discs. Even though Memorex are surely not great and commonly refered to as Memosux, they may do you for now.
And burner firmware updates can help the quality of the burn and
the media compatibility.
Then if that does not work find some better media.
