with the release of the hd dvd drive and even the new xbox racing wheel and the even newer headset on the way microsoft is perparing for new updates to stop piracy the latest rumors are that microsoft has figured out how to disable illegal firmwares and block the console from booting copyed games and worse news for modders if you are caught with this firmware update you will face a jail sentence and a find of 30,000 dollers per title pirated
well i hope that this rumor doesn't become true or we have some major issues to deal with

I knew this was BS as soon as I heard jail sentence. No one who was banned on Xbox 1 ever faced any legal action. They were supposed to ban every one with the last dashboard update. Before that everyone was supposed to be banned when they updated their servers. It's obvious they can't detect the firmware. Gears of War is the most anticipated 360 game release to date and it's made by MS. If people are playing copies of that I know MS can't stop shit.

its just a matter of time before they figure out how to detect the firmware change.its microsoft for crying out loud.when they do,there will be a new way come out to play backups. i don't think i'll be updating the next time around though,i heard it was near the end of the month.as long as the internet is alive so will pirating.

this is why i stated rumor not fact read before you post and if the rumor becomes true most likely it will involve going after chinese xbox 360 owners because they dont pay for anything

It's cool tabletpc, but I did read what you posted. Sorry I didn't clarify for you by calling it a BS RUMOR. Jail sentence makes the rumor lose all credibility to me. Regardless of that, here's the deal on firmware detection. Sure, MS designed the 360. Yet they forget to sign the firmware. Now it seems 99% likely they didn't give the DVD drive the lines of communication to report what firmware it has on it via Live. Why would they if they didn't even bother to sign the firmware? They can't just add that ability via a Live update either. They'd have to recall every 360 out there.

lol stop talking shat. Microsoft already knows whos flashed their FW, you think C4E's little 'stealth' thing can out smart the people at MS? It's just matter of time when microsoft decides they are willing to gamble to stop us and its not soon.
