1. get better blank media (Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim) for a start
2. try burning at 4x
3. booktype the DVD+R media to DVD-ROM or try using the DVD-R format
4. how old is your burner? it may be going south
5. uninstall all your burning programs run a Registry cleaner (CCleaner) do a disc cleanup defrag reboot and reinstall
6. try using the 21 day free trial of CloneDVD 2 + AnyDVD using good media(Taiyo Yuden,Verbatim) burning at 4x WITHOUT other programs running while your transcoding and burning
iggyo, your problem is the crap media you were using .the Fujifilm isn't that much better but ok . most fujifilm codes out as prodisc
Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim are still your best choice
DVD-R and DVD+R are different formats most drives/burners support both along with standalone DVD player DVD+R booktyped to DVD-ROM is the most compatible format for playback

You can use other programs to find out what manufacturer code your media codes out to...... DVDInfo Pro, DVDIdentifier, VSO Inspector, NeroInfoTools and many more programs, too.
the rule of thumb here is, read the label on the box or spindle and make sure you are buying MIJs..... Made-In-Japan disks. Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Maxell, and Fuji and other MIJs will cause you no problems with skipping, freezing, or pixelations unless other things are happening... but it won't be because of your media..... MIJs are the best out there, but, the only exception to this rule is Verbatim, which are made in Taiwan/Singapore and are top not media.
other reasons for skipping, freezing or pixelations are:
1. burning too fast or too slow
2. smudges or finger prints or scratches
3. faulty burner
4. faulty software
5. multi tasking while burning or using up computer's memory while burning
but the most important one is using good media! It starts from there and works it's way downwards.
