Hey. I have a version 1-3 PS2. I haven't found out the exact version yet, but I have 10 screws on the bottom and from what I understand they're all very similar.
My Firmware is updated (version AN16). I have a LG Burner(HL-DT-STDVDRAM GSA-4163B)
I've heard that my version (1-3) only reads -R . I do have a Fuji DVD-RW on hand, but I didn't try it do to what i've read.
I've burnt the DVD's using DVD Decrypter burning at 4x.
I use HDloader to load Swap Magic. Swap Magic does not boot these discs. I hear odd sounds coming from the PS2, unlike sounds it makes when reading a regular disc. It will pause for about 20 seconds then say not a valid PS2 disc. I use Special boot.
The game I'm trying to play is FF XII. Since the playback is FMV playback is skippy off my HDloader, I wanted to make an actual back up of it, rather then just leave it on the hard drive.
