sup everyone,

i just downloaded final fantasy XII and tried to burn it twice and i keep getting the same problem. the gameplay works and everything, but the cutscenes/movies just simply blow, cause i can't even watch them. the literally freeze every 1-2 seconds. it's HELLA annoying. anyways, i was hoping that i might find an answer to my problem in this forum, after trying many others.

here are my steps for burning the game:
1. downloaded an .iso file (around 4 GB)
2. used alchohol 120% to burn an image (image burning option, i think it was)
3. selected the lowest possible speeds for my dvd burner (6x)
4. burn took about 1 hour
5. wrote on TDK DVD+R 16x 4.7GB
6. the rest is simple, as i know my way around using swap magic and modding a ps2. the file loaded and everything and when the intro movie started playing, HOLY HELL!!!! skips like every second.

so anyways, guys, please help me, anyone who might know a solution.

thanks in advance

you might contact the site where you downloaded the file from and tell the tech guys the problem you are having, and see if they will help you with the problem you are having and if the can't help ask for your money back! also you got to rember you might have a bad disk, also no multi tasking, also if you say you downloaded the file as a img file why do you need to make another ing file try shrink and just burn the ing file to disk, good luck happy burniong have anice day

sounds like a media/optical issue to me...if you can view the scenes from virtual..and they are fine..than your speed may actually be too slow for the 16X TDK's....some media types are favored to different burn speeds with different opticals...and ..some folkes will say only use DVD-R for PS2...and others R/W... Arachne..Moderator CD freaks is pretty sharp with...media to optical...speed sugestions for PS2

yeah, i just ordered a pack of 50 taiyo yuden 8x DVD-Rs 4.7 GB, and i'm gonna try those out. cause i think that the media is what's causing the problem.

i'll tell you guys how everything went after i tried it out. thanks for your replies.

You probably would have made it further if you posted this in the ps2 dvd backup forum because this question has already been asked.
Here's the thread/solution:

Maybe you can walk me through how to burn this game to a DVD. Apparently my ISO is stored in a .rar file.
