Hi: Just downloaded DVDFab Decrypter 3035. I noticed on the right side of the page there were options under "DVD to DVD" as follows:
Full Disc, Main Movie, Split, Customer and clone. My thinking is to use the "Main Movie" since thats all that I want. My main question is the "Split". If I choose that item, can I decrypt a large movie - say 170min. and make two discs out of the split? Ronnies

If you have the DVDFab Platnium 3?

Is it the FREE version or did you buy?

If you do not know click "split" if you receive this message:
"The split feature is available in DVDFab Platnium 3"
You have the Free decrypter only.

If all you want is movie select movie only and uncheck items you don't want.

Yes the split feature is for splitting movie to 2 discs.

hello lp531: I have the free version. I trust the "Platinum 3" version is a purchase item? Is it better that the free version for the average user? Does it have more decryption capabilities? Is it compatible ( AnyDVD) is not compatible on my computer.
Thanks Ronnies

I beleive it is the same decrypter as the pay version. It just has more activated options like:
split
customize
ipod
psp

It should be compatable, however it is possible to have a conflict with other programs.

So AnyDVD wouldn't work, I just got into an argument with a member who claims AnyDVD will work on ever computer, every time...Which is a ridiculous statement in my opinion...I have had problems with AnyDVD myself and my friends as well.

So beware of saying anything bad about AnyDVD on this site they will attack you.

DVDFab does conflict with DVD43 , so if you have this on your computer you must turn it off before running DVDFab.

What are you using to compress and burn?

What movie are you trying to back-up?

you can use shrink to split anything into any number of pieces. use re-author mode. look through the guides listed in the guides tab page at the top of this page.

Hi: I just used the latest DVDFab Decrypter3035, and it worked on the movies that I was trying to back up. I used the "Main movie" selection. I am using DVD Shrink to do my compression duties - works fine - so far.... Thanks Ronnies

Congrats...on a few select movies after ripping in movie only mode there is no compression needed so you can skip the DVD Shrink process and go straight to imgburn in build mode.

Happy burning.

What do you guys do when the DVD is too long and must be compressed? I have tried using DVD Shrink, which I use for all my compression, but the current DVD will not open in DVD Shrink due to an error or protection. I ripped the DVD to my HD using DVDFab but it's slightly too long to fit on 1 DVD using Nero. Is there another program I can use to compress? I tried DVDDecrypter to create an image, but it also wouldn' run to to protection. Any help?

if you used the current version of dvdfab and shrink still had a problem you likely need to run the dvdfab output file through VobBlanker prior to using shrink. that should do it. see urls for downloads and guides below. ripit4me is another freeware alternative that will remove and correct protections and structural problems prior to compressing with shrink.
