Im grabbing a 360 and I could use some help on the hole soft mod thing. I've heard about it but Ive been out of the scene for a while and Im a complete noob when it comes to this. Can I play new games with the mod, is it easy to use, Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

GET A SAMSUNG MS25 if possible....personally i think those are the best and easiest to hack

that site tells you the lot number on the back of the box and the team....go to bestbuy to get one because they have the boxes out so u can check the lot numbers and teams

So mine is a wzho lot#0635. I cant find the lot number there. Is that good? the unit is really loud when Im playing a game.

if i was you i would return, you have the infamous hitachi 78k, that is the drive that no one wants to do, i would try again and get a older hitachi or samsung.

If I were to buy a new 360 right now, what drive would it most likely have?
and why is it that everyone keeps saying samsungs are better for modding?
X2 3800, A8n deluxe motherboard, 7800GT, Xion 2 case
2GB Patriot DDR 400, Audigy 2 ZS gamer, 400GB SATA RAID 0
games Im looking forward to: bioshock, SSBB, enemy territory quake wars, halo 3
currently playing: command and conquer 3, supreme commander, counter strike, shivering isles

Does this drive solution only pertain to firm ware mod or is also for chips. Anyone usin a chip. what are your feelings on it?

So I found a 360 with lot #0625. It has the old game titles on the back like call of duty 2, not the new one like a I have now with the gears of war on the back. Can anyone else confirm if this is a samsung version from there box?

Although Hitachis do just fine, Samsungs are the better drives to have. MS25 is the far easier Samsung drive to hack. Even with the firwmare improvements Hitachis have had, Samsungs read media better than Hitachis do. Also Hitachis need a firmware update to read new retail games. Samsungs don't.

According to 360drives.com lot 0625 have the Samsung MS28 drive. While that's the harder to flash Samsung it's a lot better than the 0078fk which is damn impossible for the average person.
