Ok,trying to help out a friend here,he got a swap magic set but when it came to sticking down part "c" he made a bit of a mess.
If any of you out there had opened a slim - line ps2 you will know about the switch that this part "c" has to keep down. Its feckin tiny !!
Know heres the problem....with all the messing around on top when he was trying to get the part in place the switch has lifted off the board. The switch is soldered in 4 places so all i have done for him at the moment is soldered tiny wire onto thses so we can connect the right ones together when i get advise on which ones it is,cause at the end of the day thats all this swaich does,it joins certain ones together,
Any help will be great,
Thanks....

Errr... Soldering? Wires? Are you sure?
Swap Magic for Slimline require certain tools. Part C is ALWAYS the hardest to equip. If you have already opened up the PS2 just use 'carpet tape' or 'duct tape' to seal the switch down, as provided in the pic. (LQ, camera went nuts)

You can also use tool 'D' as there happens to be three types of tools for the switch 'C'.
Basically, you need switch 'C' and 'A' held down and the disc brake, held back, allowing your Ps2 disc to spin.
For mine, in my old slimline, I've taped the 'C' switch, broke off the Disc brake (no need for tool 'B"), and use a big amount of glue tack for the switch 'A'.
For my new one, I used Magic Switch Pro using tool 'A', 'B' and 'E'
My old system for swap magic:

The disc brand displayed in the pic, is of BAD QUALITY! Buy Datastream or Verbatim's CD-Rs, trust me I know.

Sorry if I misread your post. Really at this point, I can't help you. If the switch is broken, you'd have to take it to a pro or you could try re-attach it (I presume that what you were trying to do).
Looking at my PS2 now the switch looks like this:

(^^^This is what you really need right?^^^)
And the Ps2 should be facing you (i.e your controller ports are facing you).
The four yellow things should be soldered onto the switch, in the correct order (corner A )switch) to corner A (motherboard)). Of course it would be too small, so use wires for the job.
