The main xbox media player website, gives you the code for the xbox media player, I think you have to complie it after that and I have no idea how to do that.
So your best bet is to keep on searching for a zip or rar, cause it's out there.

You'll have to custom-tailor the config.xml file in order for XBMP to work with your Xbox. I'd suggest some program to do it for you, such as xbmped (although I just used notepad to edit the .xml file). Good luck
To download:
1) Connect to IRC using a program called MIRC (from download.com)
2) Connect to an EFNET server
3) Go to channel #xbins
4) Follow the instructions
5) Download what you need from the FTP site
xIso == bad, use Craxtion with GDFImage

Also, Xbins keeps an updated ftp site up. To get to it, you have to connect to an EFNET server on IRC, then go to channel #xbins, it'll get you a name and password. I forget exactly what it is, but xbins references another ftp site which keeps an up-to-date copy of XBMP available for download. Good luck
To download:
1) Connect to IRC using a program called MIRC (from download.com)
2) Connect to an EFNET server
3) Go to channel #xbins

G4MERZO1D you are indeed the man...I've been after that 2.4 everywhere =) cheers
Now, a quick guide to setting up xbmp..well, how i set up 2.3 anyway...not saying it's the same for 2.4 tho.
Install Evolution X to your hard drive (i put mine on the C drive) and also copy the entire xbmp folder over to your E drive. Now, with the EvoX came a menu.ini file right? That should be on your C root...alter it so that the section "Apps" loks like this:
Section "Apps"
{
Item "XBox Media Player","e:\xbmp\default.xbe"
AutoAddItem "e:\apps\"
AutoAddItem "f:\apps\"
}
If you copied it to a folder called e:\xbmp of course!
Now, when you run EvoX you will have the option to run xbmp under the Apps section but first you have to alter some stuff in the config.xls file which is in the xbmp folder. Open it with wordpad and, if you take my example, i only altered the stuff that points to music, pictures and video on my XBOX HDD (hard disk drive)...i left all the config stuff alone as it doesnt need to be changed. Scroll down and when you see:
<share>
<name>HDD</name>
<url>e:\pictures</url>
</share>
You can see what i did...i created (with FTP prog of choice) a new directory on my E drive...infact i created three...called pictures, music and videos...the above is just an example of one...do the same for the others and that's about it. Copy from your pc, your music to the music folder and away you go...if you want to group anything simply create another folder and xbmp will read it accordingly.
e.g If you had E:\music\Michael Jackson\
Then when you open xbmp, under 'my music' would already be a folder called Michael Jackson with all the stuff you put in there =)

Yeah there's a lot of them around it took me over two hours to find a working version of .3752 ha ha ha
btw, for folks reading above guide...i had evox version 1.8.458 when i wrote that but now have 1.8.3752 and so you need to change the reference of menu.ini to evox.ini...also, 2.3 is the same process as 2.4 =)
You might also like to try this...change your evoxdash.xbe to xboxdash.xbe and your original xboxdash.xbe to something else like origxboxdash.xbe
The point of this? Well, if you let evox version 1.8.3752 boot, it will try for evoxdash first, then last xboxdash.xbe...if you do the sensible thing and keep the file names the same, you wont be able to use the MS Dash function on your evox dash...if you rename the original to something else, you can just link to it in the evox.ini file and everything will stil work the same...geddit?

ive not touched my file names, kept them xboxdash.xbe and evox.xbe because i have live via a toggle switch and if i change my files it will not work because my supposed xboxdash.xbe will infact be evox.xbe after rename! :D

D'OH i didnt think of you guys who have broadband and use Live...when you don't you tend to forget stuff like that!
Yeah, don't do as i suggested above (filename swap) if you use live OK
My method was for me personally since i use MS dash from mod chip which stays on all the time.
