Hi guys. I own a v5/v6 PS2. I have done some research and decided on the Matrix Infinity mod chip. I have found it for $44. Before I purchase it I just wanted any pros or cons or anything I should beware of.

beware of fakes. That is the only problem with a Matrix Infinity chip.
Other than that is would have been my second choice behind the
DMS4 Pro SE but only because i wanted to also install an internal hard drive and it had built in software to format it, run it, and install games to it from disc.

i used a duo se in my ps2 had no probs easy to solder less wiring

that site would be a good start, they list support boards for Matrix Infinity chips and someone may be able to help you find a guide for spotting a fake chip. Problem is that most likely it would be by the look of the chip. so if the site sells fake or clone chips, but puts up a picture of the real thing you would not know it until after you have already received it. Best thing to do is ask around for people who have these chips and where they may reccomend you buy them from.
