i think i may have messed my ps2 up ,well i didnt but the guy that gave it to me did, he pulled the silver thing that connects the standby and eject button from the ps2 its still on the top of the case but i cant seem to find where it should be on the ps2 any help would be greatly apprectiated

If the silver cable is still connected to the switch then its fixable. If it ain't then it ain't. You'll need to get a new switch/cable assembly, pretty cheap though.

What was this 'guy' trying to do with your ps2? shouldn't he fix it?

if it isn't ripped, then just plug it back in. This partial guide will tell you how to get to the ribbons.(for a fat PS2)
Then just reverse the process and put everything back together.
And be very careful when doing all this.

well the guy messed it up a while back and i asked hima bout it and he said he didnt know and i havent worked on a ps2 in 3 years so he said if i could fix it i could have it so now i have a new working ps2:) thanks guys!

would have been worth it even if you had to buy the ribbon cable as they are really cheap.
