I have just recently purchased two Gnomon Workshop DVDs. If no one is familiar with Gnomon, trust me when I say that they are expensive. Which leads me to my situation at hand. I wanted to back these babies up onto DVD+Rs and I have the following tools for the job:
Any DVD
DVD Shrink
Nero
DVDFab Plat (trial)
Img Burn
DVD Decrypter
Ultra ISO
Daemon Tools
FixVTS1.6
Ripit4me
Now with all that "overkill" in software, you would think it would be a snap? Nope...
-The file size is over 9 gigs and DVD Shrink does not like the disk. (I get the cannot find Video_TS.IFO file message)
-I have ripped it into an ISO and MDS file using DVD Decrypter and then used DVD Shrink to size it down. (I received Invalid UDF Filesystem message)
-I have other Gnomon DVDs and have burned them only running Any DVD in the background and Nero to copy (granted the disks were not as large) and had no problem.
The biggest issue I am running across is how to succesfully shrink the DVD file or ISO file down to fit on either one disk or split it onto two disks. Nothing is recognizing it and if I mount the ISO onto a virtual drive it works.
I should mention that when you explore the DVD, you see two folders; bin and Project_Files. The bin is a fex gigs in size but the only visable file is a pdf. Tho other folder holds references pictures and files for the tutorials. There is also a Macromedia Projector application file, which is what makes the movie run. I believe this is the key to it all.
If anyone can help in any way, I would be forever grateful. I would love a backup, in case something were to happened to these DVDs.
Thank you
P.S. Gnomon says it runs in a "0" regional setting if that matters.
