JUST GOT A NEW BURNER TODAY IT WORKS WITH Nero BUT NOT WITH DVD Shrink. BEEN USEING SHRINK FOR YEARS AND NOW IT DOESNT WORK. MAYBE I SHOULD JUST GET A DUPLICATOR? U CAN BURN 2 DVDS IN 10 MIN I THINK? shink does not burn the files to disk it just shrinks and encodes the files, Nero works as the burner for shrink, when did Nero stop working as far as burning your dvd's? if it just stoped one day and it worked the day before just do a system restore to the day before that Nero quit working and that should solve your problem, also dvd duplicators will burn dvd's but they will not get past the copy protection, also a heads up when you type in caps locked it is like shouting and is not allowed ok? hope that helps good luck happy burning have a nice day

Hello.

Using all caps is a no no in the forums.

When you click the Backup! icon in Shrink, there should be several options available in the drop down menu: Create an image file, create an image file and burn with DVD Decrypter, create a folder of video files, burn with Nero. Do you not have these options available in the menu? DVD Decrypter needs to be installed to get that option however. Also the "enable burning with Nero" checkbox needs to be checked for Nero to work from Shrink.

Edit -> Preferences -> File I/O tab -> Enable burning with Nero checkbox

Autoburn with Nero won't work with Nero 6.6.1.4.

Make sure you have Nero enabled:

Then when you get ready to start the backup, set your target device to burn with Nero and the drive you want to use.

Thats not good news....
Your ASPI may be missing or corrupted somehow. Check out this thread:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/306697#1834042

It does seem like all your problems started with the installation of your new burner.
Make sure your jumper settings are correct, cables good etc.
Did you install any software that came with the burner?

Please run the Nero Infotool and post the results here.

johnnydvd,
1.You need to have DMA enabled on your HD as it is not:
Description : Master: Maxtor 6Y080L0
Type : Disk Drive
DMA : Off
go into Device Manager and right click the drive and uninstall it and then re-boot and let Windows properly re-install the drive

2. Since you are using XP you do not need a ASPI as the OS has a program for that

3. Suggest you D/L a free registry Cleaner and clean out the registry of all conflicts as that can cause the errors you are getting.

4. Since you are doing Cars you need to rip it to HD first using AnyDVD(ripper function) or DVDFAB Decrypter or Ripit4Me and then use Shrink. It really is a simple movie to do if the computer has no conflicts.

Start w/ the Registry Cleaner and then uninstall the HD from the system and then post another log for us to look at
