can anyone tell me how to make a iso back up of a xb360 game? or better still is it possibale to make a direct backup of gears of war?? i own the original just want to make a back up, so the kids dont ruin the orginal :)

to make a backup you have to hook your xbox drive to your pc and read through there.. then there is a bunch of other steps as well.. i would say download the game and make like a lot easier

you just have to hook the dvd drive to the pc.. the same way you did when you flashed it.. then you have to follow a tut like this so all in all i believe it is 100% easier to just download the game.. unless you have the skills to mess with all that stuff..

or even easier is to purchase one of these puppies..samsung tsst corp rom drive sh-d162c ...and use it in conjunction with Schtrom extraction program and bang you could have a backup on desktop waiting to burn in around 20 mins,no other cables or ripping xbox open again..easiest way possible.costs around £12 uk currency and not much more in us dollars..have a scout around for them

Any dvd drive can rip an iso from an original game disc. But you'll need a dvd drive which can also read the ss, dmi, and pfi from the original game. The only drives which can do that right now are (of course) the 360 drives and pc drives sh-d162c and sh-d163a. The pc drives (which are just roms so you'll still need a separate burner) need to be flashed with a third-party firmware.

And yes, as of this posting all games are still working on Live.
