I have an issue with backing up Disney Cars as well as any other Disney movie I try to Back Up. The issue I am having is this: I use a combination of DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink to Rip/compress and then Nero to burn. I get a successful burn every time..However here is the wierd thing. When I try to play the movie...any DVD player I use automatically skips to the second chapter of the movie and then I have to manually rewind to the beginning of the movie. Not sure why this occurs. It only happens with Disney movies when I re-author them to back up just the movie. I tried to a full back up with Cars using DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink and Nero but when I get to DVD Shrink, I get error messages that I don't have enough memory to continue. Any ideas?!?!?!?!

Hi crimey617
Shrink and Decrypter can need a little help doing the Disney & Sony movies.
Add RipIt4Me to you arsenal for these. Uses Decrypter, Shrink & FixVTS (all free).
Has a few choices like movie only, movie & menu, full disc etc.
Here's a guide w/ links to download - once you get to the shrink part you can still burn w/ Nero if you like:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/422740

Or rip 1st with DVDFab Decrypter (free) then open those files in Shrink - you can try the beta version 3.0.3.8:

I backed-up Cars with AnyDVD,Shrink and DVD Decrypter just the main movie and full disc, the only thing I did on full movie is I took out 2 channel stereo left the 5 to 1 made it just small enough for a 4.7 disc

Well I would red line if I left in everthing in, so if I took out the 2 channel stereo part it was just enough to to burn to a 4.7, with 5.1 it looks good, plays good, maybe some kind of sleeper cell, I don't know.I'll try your way next time, I took the movie back to the store, so I won't know on this one.

You're welcome crimey617 :)

Anytime Shrink or Decrypter can't handle them - usually Sony's or Disney's - just use RipItMe. You're set!

I just purchased clone dvd 2 and any dvd and tried to back up cars. I didn't have any luck with that. Is there any way to get around that??

without buying a new program, of course,

thank you

Wow... I'm surprised you had AnyDVD (a retail program) and you "can't" even backup this movie "CARS"?

As usual, DVDFAB Decrypter ripped CARS through smoothly, it's easy as "sippin' on a Corona."

<1> DVDFAB Decrypter 3.0.4.0 (FREE & simple) http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm
<2> RipIt4Me (FREE & simple)

Method 1: DVDFAB guide
DVDFAB Decrypter +DVD Shrink + ImgBurn guide Just skip STEP #2 (VobBlanker), unless DVD Shrink has "encountered an error and can not continue" or you're an advanced user and know what/where to blank out.

Method 2: RipIt4Me guide
Here RipIt4Me +DVD Shrink + ImgBurn full guide Just follow this guide slowly and you'll be able to rip any DVDs around the world.

Enjoy the new guide.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

I am still having a problem backing up Cars using DVD Decrypter, Ripit4me w/Fixvts, DVD Shrink and Nero. I have tried several different ways copying the full DVD, just the movie with the wizard and the one step method. It appears to be copying properly and it works on the computer, but not on a stand alone DVD player. When it reads, I get zeros, then play, but it goes to stop very quickly. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance, WolfpackRon.

Those creepy little copyguards can be quite pesty at times. I usually flip to the experimental mode when having trouble backing up difficult DVDs. My updated AnyDVD has never let me down.

lol, my experimental mode is trying different program combinations until I find something that works well. eg: DVDneXtCopy, AnyDVD, Shrink, Nero, Decrypter, DVDFabPlat, etc;
