hi, im new to this forum and topic, i have a HDD for my ps2 and i am looking for one of these programs
HD Loader
HD Advance
i need to backup my old ps2 classics, so i want to burn the games onto a harddrive and prevent my classic cds from getting destroyed
can someone please help me find a free site where i can download either of these programs and then burn the files to a cd-r or something , then allowing me to use the disc to boot up either of these programs on my ps2
or if someone can copy the contents of their HD cd and upload it online for others to download and rip

Thanks a million Omar but where do i start from now which one of those downloads due i pick if i wanna jus burn the program on to a disk en use it on my ps2

First u need to have a chip on ur PS2 or a swap magic disk then u can download the HDLoader 8B - BIN/CUE/ISO - CD and burn it to a disk or do the memory card exploit but still with the exploit u need a chip or swap magic to load the exploit disk.

HDAdvance 2.0 Disc Burn and Play
wat about this one can i use it
i dont have a mod chip or swapmagic disk
are any of those programs jus copy en burn programs to use on the ps2 without installing additional chips or mods
b/c the original HD Loader or HD Advance disks did not require a mod u would just need the cd

Anything u burn u will need a chip or swap magic to load unless you get and original HDAdvance disk. Or if u have a friend that have a chip or swap magic then he can do the memory card exploit for u then u can run the HDAdvance elf from your memory card using a PSX game.

yes i am interested in that too do anyone have an origanal i can burn, i am also quote confused because it sates you dont need the mod, even the new say nothing about the mod. Does any wanna hep me out?

yeah u dont need any mods just a network adapter and a compatiable hardrive, the mods and tools are useful if u want to burn ps2 backups not originals, u can burn the original game disks directly on to your ps2 hardrive all you need is the HD CD.

so if i buy the retail copy of hd loader or advance, all i need is a harddrive to plug into my network adapter, and im good to go?? Put my discs in and load them up?
Also how big of HDD can i put into my ps2??

yeah if you get HD advance 3.0
it supports hardrives sizes up to +200GB
but it has to be a IDE internal harddrive( applicable for ps2)

that is the first place you should look before you buy a hard drive to make sure it has been tested and working in case you did not catch the link above.
and you will also notice that people are using hard drives with HD Loader and HD Advanced larger than 200GB. But read the comments and you will find that it will not format and recognize more than the 200GB limit. Unless they have released a new patch like they did when they had the 137GB limit and you could patch it to read 200GB.

Now if you had a DMS4 Pro mod chip you would not only not have a limit to the size, you would also not need HD Loader as it is built into the firmware the chip runs on (ToxicOS) which you will see mentioned on the HDD Compatibility chart.
Also read the comments to see if they mention how the HDD fit. Some can be installed with more ease than others.
