Okay just converted an avi to pal dvd format and have burned to disk. However the sound is there but totally out of sync from the actual image of the film. I have used mulitplex after teh convertion completed and then used TMPGEnc author to create the dvd files to burn onto disk.

Is there a way to slow down the sound or convert it so that is matches the film?

I used TMPGEnc by the way.

So if you had to multiplex I would be correct in saying you selected PCM audio?

Far as i know i have only came across PCM audio in the 'Audio' tab under 'settings' which automatically MPEG-1 Audio Layer II.

As in Mulitplex there was no option only MPEG audio.

Or have i done this wrong? Or does any1 have a quick step by step in the best method to get my audio started? I heard Virtual DUb may do the job?

Ok so if the audio is MPEG Layer II or mp2 then you shouldnt have even had to multiplex the audio with the video in the first place that should have automatically been done!

Okay got you m8. So to get my sound sorted what is the best setup in virtual dub to create the audio? cause i think i can handle TMPGEnc alright it's just getting this audio in sync properly. Cause 1st time i tried with it it created another mpg for me. :( Or is this right, as virtual dub creates teh diles together rather than seperatly like TMPGEnc does.

Have you tried to completely decompress the audio??

Open the AVI In VirtualDub and do the following

1. click video - direct stream copy
2. click audio - full processing mode
3. click audio - comoression, select no compression pcm and click ok
4. click file - save as avi

Then encode!

So this should produce a single mpg or just a wav file?

And with TMPGEnc am i selecting the original avi mpg as the video source along with the file thats created by VirtualDub as the audio source?

VirtualDUB will give an AVI file

then TMPGEnc will give an mpg file!
