I've had very few problems backing up my grandson's DVD's until now. I learned most of what I know from ArnieBear & Alcohol and follow instructions well. I used DVDFABDECRYPTER 3.0.3.5 and DVDSHRINK and it said that all was succefssful. However they both froze & were jittery and I couldn't fast forward them some of the time.
I then tried VobBlanker and it said something about "multiangle (unsupported)cells and skips in VTS's & Pointers".
I tried the latest version of FIXVTS on the DVDFABDECRYPTER results loading the VTS_01_1 to & including VTS_01_6 with Version 1.6. When it said it was done (and by the way I tried "Cleanup" on one & "Full DVD" on the other), I ran them through DVDSHRINK again and I still had problems with the finished product. I even tried Vob Blanker and told it to "process all" because it wanted to skip the trouble areas. It said "No Errors" but I still didn't get clean copies.
I am using Maxell DVD-R's 16X made in Taiwan. I've never had any problems before with them. My DVD Burner is one of the latest Sony External USB drives, Model DRX-810UL Dual Layer drive with the latest Firmware Version 2.0e and I'm only burning all of the back-ups at either 2X or 2.4X. I've burner a couple of 100 DVD's with this burner and these programs using Alcohol's tutorialswith no problems.
Verbatim DVD-R's are also available here as well as Memorex. I've used the Memorex ones before and also had NO problems.
I'm frustrated as I have more coasters with these two programs than I've had total over the last yesr or so.
Has anyone got a solution using these Freebies which Alcohol seems to swear by.

Try setting the burnable area of the disc to 4300 in shrink and burn at 4x. Maybe try using ripit4me.
