Soldering the MS28

I recently discovered my drive was the new and improved MS28, and after doing some reading it has come to my attention, that I need to remove a resistor, and perform some soldering on this, in order to effectively flash it?

Has another way around this been discovered, or is this the ONLY way you can now flash the MS28 drive? What about Textbook's method, will that work?

No soldering is required. The bad flash recovery method works. Sorry I don't have a tutorial, but I know you don't have to solder anything.

You can only use the bad flash method if you have a VIA chipset Sata Card. Otherwise its solder city.

I have built in SATA on my m/b, my hdd runs off it. Does this mean I will have to Solder?

No, but it may not be compatible. Samsung are more picky about what SATA chipset they will work with. Fortunately it's easy to buy a PCI SATA card and use that. You want one with a VIA VT6421L for a Samsung.
