Hi, can somone please tell me if there anyway of playing a chipped xbox 360 on xbox live without ms finding out. If not what is the chances of getting found out, do they instantly know or is it just random checks?

Forget about chips. Flashed DVD drives with hacked firmware is where it's at. And yes a flashed 360 play backups and retail games on Live just fine.

How are the chances of getting urself banned? Do MS do checks? Because i wld certainly like to use the Market Place once i get my console. I have no interest in online gaming whatsoever.

Well the 1st firmware hack was made known in March. The 1st publicly really hack was released about 3 months later. I'm not exactly positive on it went public. No has been banned in all that time even with a new dashboard update. So there you go.

OK CHEERS BUT IM THINKING OF BUYING ONE FROM A BLOKE AT WORK, HE GAVE ME A FLYER WITH SOME INFO BUT I AINT GOT A CLUE TO BE HONEST. ONE PART OF THE FLYER READ THE FOLLOWING:
Xbox 360 System (UK PAL), hard drive, high definition AV cable & wireless controller.
We always use the very latest firmware release. For samsung drives we use 'Commodore4eva's Xtreme v4.2A' and for Hitachi we use 'Maximus-Garyopa Hitachi-LG Xtreme v2.3 Stealth 8in1' these are the very latest firmware releases.
IS THIS ANY GOOD OR NOT? CAN IT BE USED WITH XBOX LIVE.

unless he's only charging you a few bucks more, you'd be better off buying a regular 360 and doin' the work yourself. it's not hard and ...well, if you're on AD, odds are you like to save cash.

Well yeah its basicly the same price as it would cost me for a regular one in the shops, he's also offering free games. All i really want to know is if it likly to work on xbox live please and how the whole banning process works concerning microsoft.

I see that place only gives you 28 days from delivery so you can check everything.
Games world direct give you 6 months for a few pounds more.
Do a search on the web for them i bought a ps2 off them a while back very good.
