AVI (DivX) on PS2

If I burn some AVI (DivX) movies to a dvd/cd will the PS2 play the film or do I have to convert the AVI to some other format?

You need a chip, if you have one then it should play fine if its DivX.

You should try "ConvertX to DVD"
It works fine and works everytime to create good DVD Videos that plays not only on PS2 but also on home DVD Player.
You can put two or more movies on the media and create a main menu for display.

Damn it's good !

But if you prefer your AVI's, well that's good too.
