Can anyone tell me why DVD Shrink 3.2 will only read the games and not the movie? How can I get it to read the movie?

thanks!!

Try ripping to HDD first using DVDFab Decrypter or RipIt4Me.

I tried the Lasted DVDFab but when I went to burn it, it kept stopping at 95% on analisys. Tried to rip with DVDfab for a 2nd time think maybe it was a glich but nada. Same problem.

So I Ripped it with RipIt 4Me 1570 and BAM! it was done.

@dake

I seriously don't know why you're having issue with DVDFAB. This movie (ICE AGE 2: The Meltdown) doesn't even have any kind of special protections, though it does carried tons and tons of useless junks. Even DVD Decrypter alone can rip this via MODE, File F -- and yes DVDFAB Decrypter 3.0.4.0 (FREE) handle this smoothly.

Best of luck to all.

DVD Shrink with AnyDVD running in the background handles this movie without any problems.

ICE AGE2 is driving me nuts. In the past couple of days I have backed up many new movies, Davinci Code, Cars. However, this ice age 2 is giving me hell. I have tried methods successfully used by others such as dake using with RIPIT4ME and DVDFAB 3.0.4.0 as mentioned by Alkohol. Who I'd like to thank by the way. His guide with ripit4me-shrink-imageburn got me DaVinci Code and Cars backed up.

Anyway, I can successfully rip ICE AGE2 but but not able to BURN. 12 coasters latter...

Will try running it through Vob Blanker, if that doesn't work will try AnyDVD tonight.

AnyDVD is the cure. I backed this movie up using AnyDVD 6.0.8.2 running in the backround along with Nero 7 Recode2. No errors, No playback issues. AnyDVD all by itself does the trick everytime along with a non-decrypting burning software of your choice. No need to stack decrypting software which sometimes creates conflict. AnyDVD is the "ONE". I also use CloneDVD2 primarily if I want to retain the menu option or if I encounter movies with larger amounts of media content (extras) which creates compression trouble that CloneDVD2 easily handles and allows you to still transfer your file to a 4.7GB disc.

hey all,
i had no problem ripping this movie(dvdfab 3.0.4.0). but i had a differen't question. i'm sure you VobBlanker pro's here can give me a little insight as to why this happens sometimes with a movie every once in awhile.i ripped ice age2 with dvdfab 3.0.4.0 (no problem), then ran it through VOB and got rid of everything but the movie and main menu.
when i ran it through shrink, and after i removed all the unwanted audio i came out with(i hope i'm wording this correctly) 1% compression. but on the backup side window of shrink it shows just under 1 hour menu and the main movie at 3 hrs 38 min. when i ran through VOB i didn't see a fullscreen and widescreen so i couldn't figure out why everything is so big.
i have burned movies that show up like this before and had no problems. i have played it back on windvd looks fine. also posting a screenshot (don't know if you can see the numbers though. looking forward to hearing from you all, thanks

First of all, your backup is fine, but you forgot to delete/blank the other movie (this was put on to fill up the space, honestly it's junk to me).

Secondly, there are tons of junks (i.e. games, etc.)

Get the latest VobBlanker 2120B8 here http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=903803#post903803

NOTE: there's another movie on PGC #13, under VTS_09_*.VOB, so you'll need to delete this.

All you really need (care for) is VTS_09_*.VOB and it's PGC #1 -- yes, VTS_09_*.VOB + PGC #1 is the "Main Movie + Menu". The rest (all other VTS or PGC), have VobBlanker delete or blank them, then PROCESS as usual.

@edwards

So did it worked this time? It should be fine -- sometimes with these new released, you just need to dig a little deeper to get rid of all useless/unwanted junks that's all.

Yes, that movie (ICE AGE 2: Meltdown) has tons and tons of useless junks.

Best of luck!!

EDITED: to insert picture. Noticed how the quality is 100% perfect after running, blanking & deleting through VobBlanker. Yes, I didn't even have to transcode at all, I burned it straight with Nero Burning Rom. Yes, my kind of modified full disc aka "Main Movie + Menu."

@alkohol

i ran the original rip through VOB again, and it came out fine i blanked out all that stuff that i missed the first time. one question though it still had the movie as being over three hours and the menu as 55 minutes. am i still missing something here, i just can't figure this one out. i did burn it this time and it's fine. i noticed your screenshot and the movie and the menu shows the right amount of time. should i be deleting instead of blanking or is it something else you think? thanks,
tjedwards
