hi,
well i dont want to spend £700 on a mac just for logic pro. Wondering if there is any other good programme equivilant to it for windows...ive tried Acid Pro 6.0. Not very fond of it.

You can try programs like Sibelius, Reason and Cubase.
The second two require a MIDI keyboard, I think. There are more; but those ones have slipped my mind at the mo :P

Hey bombayboy, been a while mate...:-)
Cubase + Protools will have you making producer level stuff, not easy but worth learning.

Edit: Hi again, does anyone know any programme for like mixing the music just like logic pro and has the massive library of virtual instruments to use. Im not looking to make my own music from scratch ;) just to remix some other music.

if you want to get into serious audio creation and editing, get Pro Tools. It uses its own hardware, and is for both platforms (winXP and mac). It is the industry standard for the tv/film and music industry. An entry level system (mbox2) will run you just under $500. Start with that, then you can invest in other programs more focused on making beats and whatnot.

For mixing music. I use Magix Music Maker. I use this program to create my remixes to my performances. Its easy to use and fun.

Thanks lads.
Just another question, there are two types of pro tools i think...one LE and the other HD...but im not sure what i need...it doesnt seem i just need windows runnin but some other programme tiger too. Anyone who uses this programme, any help would be appreciated.

you want to start out with Pro Tools LE. The LE version supports 32 audio tracks and 99 midi tracks, and supports up to 96K/24bit resolution, but keep in mind you need the hardware that supports that as well. For example the MBOX 2 supports up to 28K, but the 002 and 002 rack supports 96k. Start out with the MBOX 2, for the price it is a steal, then you can learn pro tools and if you want you can always upgrade to a 002 in the future, which would allow you to record at higher resolution as well as 8 tracks in/out simultaneously as opposed to 2 and 2 with the mbox. The HD version of pro tools is very expensive...you could get a basic setup for a few grand, but full blown hardware setups of Pro Tools HD can set you back easily $100 grand

give FS studio a blast...
you can get pretty good results with it. just requires a bit of getting used to.
