Hey guys, im trying to burn a game, I have a old dvd burner with max speed at 4x. I recently ran out of my TDK 4X media, so I bought TDK -R 16X media. Using 4X media my playstion (modded) played everything. But when I use 16X, it doesn't work? Whats the deal?

Do you burn your games at a low speed?

Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

When I used 4X media I would burn at 4X because thats as high as my burner can go, and the PS2 would play it perfectly. Now that I have 16X media (TDK), I can only burn at 4X, but the game won't play. I read in a FAQ that burning less than 8X on a 16X disk, actually makes the quality of the burn lower.

You should try using other programs and check the tutorials in the forum.

ntranced, use better blank media (Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim) 8x speed. TDK is low grade media and should be avoided.

also if you can do an firmware update on your drive this will help, check here

or consider getting a new drive/burner there pretty inexpensive nowadays, Plextor,Lite-On,BenQ,NEC,LG are all good brands
