I just got swap magic, but I can't figure it out on my PS2. I insert the disc, and wait for it to boot. I then use the slide tool to pull out the tray and replace it with my backup, like all the guides say. Then I push it in, and insert the slide tool again, the same way, and push left. This is meant to lock the tray or something, this is what I think I'm doing wrong. It doesn't latch onto anything when I push left, just slides out like it was in a hole. I then press X and try to booth the disc, but it comes back to the Browser screen on PS2, and shows a PS2 disc to select. When I select that, it doesn't boot.

Someone help me, there's gotta be a way to fix this.

Ok, now when I lock it it actually seems like it's locking, but it still won't boot my discs. I'm using 16x Verbatim DVD-Rs, burnt at 4x. I have Swap Magic Coder, if that's of any use.

Did you feel the same resistance you did when unlocking the tray?

What I mean is, when you were sliding to the right, you felt a resistance, right? Did you feel that same resistance when locking the tray?

I worked it out. I didn't feel the same resistance, but I got it to work. Now I have another problem: The DVD Coder disc doesn't boot properly. I try to load it up, it does the 'PlayStation2' screen like it's about to boot, then goes back to browser. I don't even have the chance to use the slide tool, it doesn't boot properly. I don't know why this is because it worked fine earlier today. The CD disc also works. If the DVD disc continues not to work is there any way I can use the CD disc to boot DVD games, or something I can do at all?

I am having trouble with my ps2 also. I aquired a copy of swap magic 3.6 for my slim line ps2 but it dosent boot up, it simply says please put in a playstayion 2 disk. I dont have a slidetool ( what ever they are ) and my backups are from games i already have!!!

I just need a place to get the right software and tools that i need, then i can drive you all mad after. please help............
