Birdy 2.2 Fixed with media patch2. Do this, solves all problems. I don't give a damn what anyone else says about it. Do it and see. Then post back here what happened.
Edit - Don't know about TW and GOW originals though. May not work but backups do.

Only use revision 2 if you never had a firmware on your drive or your drive was one that needed fixing from 2.3 revision 1.
But that still isn't going to solve your problem.

This is a quote from garyopa'
`quote`
In my tests here at the OPA HQ, I have found that the v2.3 does not like cheap brands of discs,
which booted with no problems on the v2.2
The best thing is to made a backup of your Gears of War and play that, and go back to v2.2
We will be releasing a new firmware soon, which willl even have better media detection, and
will still allow those new originals to play fine.

I guess Verbatim is crap media because I've seen some Hitachi drives (especially the v47) have problems with OPA 2.3 Stealth and Verbatim. Same Verbatim that play perfectly with Birdy 2.2 Fixed. My 0059DJ drive works flawlessly with either firmware.

You have to restore with OPA before you can flash with Birdy. Yeah, you got the right one though.

Ok, Then I guess you just have to put OPA 2.3 Revision 2 on it again and play a backup of GOW.
