can you run a burnt boot-disc?

and do you need anything else for the ps2 if you have a boot-disc?

No it is not.... You have to buy the original swapmagic a burnt copy will not work

is swapmagic all you need to play burnt games or do you need anything else (other than the dvd burner, blank DVD-R and original copy of the game)

True but there are free alternatives such as the tape and tissue mod for the slim ps2 or credit card mod for the fat ps2 which will just allow the disc to keep running while you swap disc :)

or even what i did which is take off the cover for the ps2 and the cover for the dvd/cd drive (if thats what its called) and swap the disks and just put the cover of the drive back on

actually if you have an authoring burner you can burn a bootable disc that doesn't require any modding to the console. on the down side an authoring burner costs more then buying all the games that you'd be backing up.
