burnt dvds freezing/skipping at certain spots

after i ripp and burn a dvd using the programs DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, and img burn. my burnt dvd's tend to skipp/freez at the same spot torwds the end of the movie even in diffrent sony dvd players.
i use sony DVD+R discs. please help me fix this problem

Ditch the Sony discs and try Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. The effects you are decribing are indicative of cheap media.

The effects you describe are also indicative of:
1) paper labels on a DVD
2) radial tilt from a printable surface that did not cure properly
3) discs incompatible with the firmware settings in your drive

If you mean the same spot in terms of time for all the discs, that would suggest #3. If you mean the same spot on disc each time, but the spots can be different for different discs, that suggests either #1 or #2 plus a few other problems that could be related to quality. Switching to Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden will fix all the problems above except #1 because: the printable surface coatings they use are stable and these discs are the most compatible discs on the market.

You could also try a 'Transfer Rate' test in Nero CD-DVD Speed to see exactly where at the end the media craps out. Then in DVDShrink's Preferences choose Custom in Target DVD size and enter a value before this occurs, i.e. from 4464 (default) to maybe 4360. Choose based on what you see in the Transfer Rate test. That way you can use the discs you have. Many choose a lower value anyway.
