BIOS not detecting the hitachi drives anymore HELP!!!

hi all

i used to mode the hitachi drives like piece of cake before

but from a week my pc does not recognize ir detects the hitachi drive anymore in BIOS

and hence i cant use the slax cd as it always gives me messages like

irq probe failed OR port too slow to be detected

maybe this is because the bios does not recognize it first

wat can be the solution to my problem

i am in big trouble
