I have an HP740b DVD Writer w/ Light scribe. I currently have DVD Shrink 3.2, DVD Decrypter, DVD Fab Decryter and Any DVD downloaded. Almost everytime I try to back up a DVD using shrink I get an error message (DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to read "J:\" Incorrect function)or another similar message if I use DVD Decrytper or DVD Fab Dycrypter. I have the latest drivers for the DVD Writer, I've cleaned the writer, the latest updates for Shrink, Dycryp, DVD Fab and Any DVD, I've cleaned the DVD. I've even used a DISC Dr. because I thought scratches might be causing the read error. What am I doing wrong???? Do I have a bad Writer? Too many programs?? or is it just the protection on the newer DVD's???? I'm almost to the point of just giving up!!! Can anyone help me???? I usually run Any DVD and Shrink together.

any dvd & DVD Shrink "clash" with some of the later movies. use any dvd & clone dvd (from slysoft) & this should end all your problems.

Use the ripper function in AnyDVD and rip the DVD to HD first then process w/ Shrink. Make sure that you use the FixVTS option that comes w/ AnyDVD as that corrects the DVD structure problems

Or you could just use the DVD FAB Decryptor to rip to hard drive. After which, you can use Vob Blanker to clean and DVD Shrink to shrink. Good luck!
