if you own a samsung 162 dvd-rom drive flashed with kreon firmware i am 100% positive you will be wanting to backup your xbox / xbox360 titles , remember having the drive doesnt mean you will not have to have your console flashed (modded) as this is still a MUST DO!!! or else you wont be able to play your newly created backups. for more information on the firmware modifications please view the sticky posts or indeed ask the afterdawn members.
after you have installed the samsung rom drive into your pc or indeed your laptop via a usb connection your next step is to download XBOX BACKUP CREATOR or SCHTROM360XTRACT both programs are freeware but the authors may indeed except donations to help support future updates.
both programs are extremly simple to use and the rip process is almost identical and can be done in 3 easy steps.
XBOX BACKUP CREATOR:
OPEN THE PROGRAM AND INSERT YOUR CHOSEN GAME INTO THE SAMSUNG DRIVE AND FOLLOW THE THREE STEPS IN THE IMAGE ADDED..
ALL BEING WELL IF YOUR ORIGINAL GAME IS NOT TOO SCRATCHED OR DAMAGED YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEMS AND THE TITLE WILL BE RIPPED TO YOUR SELECTED DESTINATION . ONCE COMPLETED YOU CAN EITHER CHOOSE TO USE THE BUILT IN BURN ENGINE WITHIN XBC (XBOX BACKUP CREATOR) BY SELECTING THE WRITE TAB OR INDEED USE THE LIKES OF IMGBURN OR CLONECD...
okay now you have created the files that are needed to create a working backup of a xbox / xbox360 title ,
the next task is now burning the file to your prefered dual layer media personally i would advise the use of verbatims as there as been many good reports with this brand.. (other branded DL media may work)
the first thing to do is download imgburn one of the greatest freeware applications available in the dvd authoring community,, as always i will mention the author of imgburn does indeed accept donations of any size large or small to help with releases of future updates
BURNING WITH IMAGE BURN:
AFTER INSTALLING IMGBURN OPEN THE PROGRAM AND SELECT TOOLS (SEE IMAGE BELOW)
AFTER SELECTING THE TOOLS OPTION ENTER THE SETTINGS FROM THE DROP DOWN BOX AND SELECT THE WRITE TAB....
NOW CHECK THE USER SPECIFIED BOX CLEARLY HIGHLIGHTED BY THE RED ARROW FOR DUAL LAYER MEDIA ON CHECKING THIS THE BOX CIRCLED WILL NOW BECOME ACTIVE , ENTER THE SEVEN DIGIT NUMBER DISPLAYED 1913760 (SEE ATTACHED IMAGE) AND EXIT BY PRESSING OK.
ON THE IMGBURN USER FACE CLICK ON SELECT FILE (SEE IMAGE 1) AND THEN IN THE NEXT WINDOW DISPLAYED CHOOSE THE FILE YOU WISH TO WRITE TO A DISC (DUAL LAYER) EITHER RIPPED BY SCHTROM OR XBC (SEE IMAGE 2).

ONCE YOU'VE FINALLY MADE YOUR MIND UP ON WHICH TITLE TO BURN/BACKUP AND YOU HAVE CLICKED ON THE OPEN TAB YOU WILL SEE INFORMATION OF THE SELECTED ISO DISPLAYED ON THE NEXT SCREEN INCLUDING THE LAYER BREAK (SEE IMAGE BELOW)PROCEED BY CLICKING ON THE NEXT TAB
NOW SIMPLY CHOOSE YOUR DUAL LAYER DVD BURNER YOU REQUIRE TO WRITE THE ISO TO THE MEDIA THE PIONEER 111D IS HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!!
once you have done this insert your dual layer media giving clonecd time to reconize the dvd clearly displayed by the red arrow once your satisfied click on the ok tab and let the burning commence :)

i have 2 questions would the samsung drive rip xbox 1 games and you mention the 7 number ( 1913760 ) for the layer break for xbox 360 games , is the number unique for all xbox 360 games .
ps. i am getting the samsung and flashing it with kreon latest and also have a pioneer dvr-109 which ill be using for burning so coming across your gude has been very usefull .
LOL ..... A BLAST FROM THE PAST YOU MUST HAVE DIGGED DEEP TO FIND THIS ...yeah the layer break stays the same for all 360 titles although it changes for xbox 1
hello again , is it possible to burn xbox 1 and xbox 360 games with xbox backup creator , ie . using xbox backup creator as a all in one program ( ripping and burning ).
