slim modded ps2 not reading dvd movies,or original ps one games

i've got a slim ps2..problem is tht it doesnt read dvd movies.. i tried 2 of them, both are a little scratched...

what kind of mod do you have? if ur using swapmagic for ps1 games u need hte CD version of swapmagic.. and ps2 isnt hte greatest dvd player around .. in fact its a piece of trash even when compared to normal 25$ dvd players..

i dont knw which mod is fitted onto it...and do i hav to use swap magic in order to play ps one games in a modded ps2...

no, if u have swapmagic then u need the cd version to play cd games otherwise most other mods you just have to play normally

@Knivez - I don't think swap magic cd or dvd can boot burned PS1 games check here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/420517 Also a search comes up with many of the same answers.

@an3esh - Try adjusting the laser and maybe cleaning the laser gently with a soft q-tip also try with non scratched dvd's and ps1 games because it's only common sense that a scratched disc may not work no matter how good the player plus it may be scratched a little but if it's scratched in the wrong area it won't work period.

Move the laser in different positions (top, middle, bottom) and see which one perfers to boot games.
