I installed an X-Changer v2.5 chip to my xbox, and replaced the hard drive with an 80 gig. Now, I am wondering what to do next. I understand that I can use the XboxHDPrepar utility to zero out the drive to prepare it for use. I have also verified that I am able to lock and unlock it with the mod chip. No problems there.

My problem, is that in all the tutorials I can find they tell you to backup your partitions from the old drive, and restore them to the new drive. In my situation, the old drive is stone dead (which is why I decided to mod this thing in the first place).

I'm sure I am missing something simple here, but is there somewhere I can download these important missing files from - to put back onto the partions once I create/format them?

Thanks,

I think I figured it out. I need the msdash to get this thing back into "retail condition". But this Slayer's Auto-Installer seems to take care of setting up the partitions for you and restoring that lost file to the C: drive.

What are you wanting to do with your old HDD? When I modded my xbox, I didn't get a single thing off of my old HDD, and my xbox works fine. The only thing that you would be getting off your old HDD, is saves, and memory and crap. If you want to partition your drive, there should be an option when you Flash your system and everything. When I did mine, I had the Xecuter 3 CE chip, and I flashed my system, and then it asked how I wanted to partition my drive. I made it so that important files are on the E drive, and that everything else goes in my F drive.
