I have tried every guide that I could find on snes station. I can get the emulator to load, but it never reads any roms from the cd.

I have:
fat ps2
usb thumb drive
action replay max
nero 7

I follow a guide on how to make a cd. I use ar max media player to boot snes station elf. The emulator loads, but always says no roms or directories found on cd. I have pressed select and tried another cd, but none work. I even tried putting roms on the usb drive, but no luck.

Can someone please tell me how to load snes station roms from cd using ar max?

Make sure you have the latest version of SNES Station. I had an older version which had no option to read CDs on the menu once it came up on the screen. The newer versions have a CDROM option at the top which should work. I have a new slim PS2 with Action Replay, and boot the loader from a USB flash drive by using the AR Max menu to go to Media Player, then it automatically runs the loader from the flash drive in my PS2.
My problem is that the controllers (joysticks) do not work when any of the games come up, grrrr! Anyone else have any ideas why they don't work?

Well, this could be what i think it is, is there a .srm at the end of the roms filename before you put them on a CD, because if theres no .srm, SNES station will think its a dummy file or something, so well, if thats the case, download a File Renamer, and put all your roms in a Directory, and change the filenames to [ROM NAME HERE].SRM

ex.

Killer Instinct.srm

....try that.

They have the extension ".smc". Doesn't that work the same as ".srm"?

.srm files are SNES save files.

i got the cd version to work, but the framerate and sound quality are lacking. i'm more inclined to by a tv tuner card than use snes station at this point.

I already use a TV tuner. It works, but still doesn't feel the same as a console. I was hoping the ps2 snes station would have the same console feel, but it seems like it is too much work to mess with.

it worked easy enough for me, but the quality wasn't at all satisfying. you can buy a usb game controller. it works pretty well with snes9x, but you're right, there's not much of a console feel to it, i figured a tuner card could remedy that.
