My ps2 v10 with dms4 E.Z.I pro has gone dead.
It started with the reset button light not working, then after a few days the reset button wouldn't work...
I plugged in the test panel to see if there was anything wrong with the chip connection but it just died and now nothing happens when I turn it on, no lights, no sound from the fan, nothing...
I have checked all the fuses (PS1-16) and the one on the power board but they are fine.
What could be wrong? please help!

could be any number of things from as simple as the rocker switch on the back to the regulator in the power supply, start at the V input checking with a DVM and work your way to through the power supply to the regulated output and make sure you have power making its way through all channels. if so then check the reset/eject assembly.

you also needed to do a Romeo mod on a version 10 console when you installed the chip did you???

I haven't done a romeo mod as I never have soldered anything. The romeo mod has to do with the laser right?

Doesn't my console power up even though my laser or LA6508 chip is fried?

Do you have a link to a guide or pictures on where I could measure the different things?

the Romeo mod was mentioned simply for a FYI, if you haven't done it, then it needs to be done if/when you get the console up and going again.

I've never looked for any diagrams for the above procedure, I've got 17 yrs of component level repair experience so i can walk myself through the power supply and the MOBO with no need for reference, the PS is pretty cut and dry and anyone who has any electrical experience at all can easily troubleshoot it, if you can't then you most likely don't need to be in there in the first place with line power applied.

ok, thanks.
I thought I could try to measure it myself as I have alot of experience with measuring electrical currents in a car :-)
