I'm trying to mod my ps2 but I keep getting invalid media message in the cdloader.elf. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong.
-I'm trying to follow the ace's guide using the usb drive form.
-PS2 Slimline version SCPH-70012
-using sony CD-Rs
This is how I'm doing it:
1)I start the PS2 Exploit aplication and setup everything like the guide tells me to.
(-Title.db: nothing
-Loader: nothing(keep uLaunchELF 3.61 selected)
-Files: click "Browse for file", locate COGSWAP.elf, click it, and click "Add"
-IP Options: click "Yes" ONLY if you will use your PlayStation 2 over a network
-Region: NTSC for NTSC U/C consoles, PAL for PAL, and JAP for NTSC J
-Extras: keep the dummy file the way it is and assign Cog-Swap to one of the buttons
-Create Exploit: select "CD/HD image (bin/cue)" and select "Live CD" in "Options for CD image")
2)After creating the exploit I go ahead and burn it on the cd-r using Alcohol 120%, put the speed to 4x, datatype to PS2, and select rectify subchannel.
3)Then I turn on the action replay max, insert the usb with the cdloader.elf, and press play in the media player. That loads up pretty well.
4)After that I just exchange the disk with the one I burned and It tells me 'invalid media'.
Ok so my questions are:
-Do I have to deal with the lid sensors? I'm using CDs so no right?
-Other options in Alcohol 120% are set to: Enable underrun technology = true, Write method = RAW DAO. Are these correct?
-Can't I do this just by putting TITLE.DB in the memorycard and inserting the ps1 cd like I read in some other guide or is that just for fat PS2?
