I'm very new to transfering Avi's to DVD. I've read a lot, used some software, and burned a DVD or 2, but I am still in need of advice.
I have a large AVI, about 726MB. Using WinAvi the resulting VOB was 5.8GB. No menus or anything, just straight conversion.
My question is: Is there any software or combination, freeware preferably, that will convert this AVI to a suitable size VOB or iso? And, am I missing anything?
I used to use WinAVI till I noticed allot of members using VSO ConvertXTODvd. I tried it and haven't used anything but that program for converting AVI to DVD or PAL to NTSC.
You can get a trial version (Trial version leaves a watermark) But it is well worth the money if you buy a registered version of it.

Have you noticed the advanced option about winavi? In that page, you can select "constant video size",the select 4.3GB or 4.7GB or other which you want, then you can get the output file under that file size.
Sometimes just need patient and notice.
